Changes Coming In My Life

I am trying to make changes in my life. Trying to make myself a better person. Being kinder and nicer to people. Speaking politely, etc. I have been accepted into the Medical Reserve Corps, which I am excited about, because this allows me to help fight against COVID-19 and to serve my community. I am also in the process to join the Civil Air Patrol, of which I was a former C/Airman. That will allow me to serve my nation. I am on a job hunt for the medical field as a Medical Assistant or similar position. I want to work in the clinic or lab. Urgent care or emergency rooms are ideal for me. I have been re-ordained as a minister, this time for the Universal Life Church.

I am continuing to work on a couple of books that I am writing. One is part of a long term project regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and includes many facets to document and memorialize this plague. Part of it I will seek to publish as a book or books. Another part is for me to pass down to my children or grandchildren or other. Another book is centered around mysticism and spiritual topics. The other once is a source book for some of my fictional writing. It is a sort of encyclopedia to a universe I have created for my stories.

Oklahoma is becoming one of the worst states for COVID-19. This will not end soon. I believe that the peak of the epidemic (for the first phase) will occur as we slide into January and February during the cold and flu season. I don't expect it to go away with spring. This will be with us for awhile at least until we get a vaccine or cure. I believe it will follow a similar patter as the Spanish Flu and come in three phases. This may be the worst one. Or it could be just the tip of the iceberg. Only time will tell. Talk to your healthcare practitioner about if you should get a flu shot or not. The vaccine is already available.

And for smiles, here is a pic of Harley with his bone.

Some Quotes from Brian

It's the Fourth of July and I am spending it at Lake Murray as I do every year. It is my earthly paradise. I have been coming here my whole life.
Spot in front of the lodge.

Look it's a turtle!

The side of the lodge facing the lake.

The dock.

I haven't gone swimming though. I haven't gotten around to it. Maybe today if it gets warmer and stops raining. But first lunch and a cup of coffee. And a cigarette. Beer later.

The total fatalities from COVID-19 in the United States has reached almost 130,000. A score slowly creeping up with the one from the Spanish Flu. Total fatalities across the world are above 500,000 with more than 10 million cases. Remember folks to keep washing your hands.

Some Quotes from Brian

"Help yourself and God will help you."

"To start a conflagration all you need is one spark."

"Sometimes is better to remain quiet than to speak something stupid and make yourself look like an ass".

"The person who can solve a conflict with their intelligence has no need for their fists."

"If a person's character, loyalty or opinion can be bought; then they aren't worth being a member of your tribe."

"If a problem is too big for you to handle, then chip away at it and eventually the problem will disappear".

"Make the most of your life. You are preparing for the here-after. Make your life something good."

"The squeeky wheel may get the grease, but the one who sits with quiet patience gets the best reward."

"If we were to revert to the people we were as children we find ourselves without faults."

"If you want a great thing, you will have to make a personal sacrifice. The greater the value of that which you sacrifice, the more valuable the payout."

"Don't rely on a person's reputation to find out who they are. Get to know them first and judge from their character and actions."

"Gossip is only farts coming out of the wrong it. Don't let bullshit come from your mouth".

Why Do I Even Continue To Publish On my Blog anymore?

Why do I even publish on this blog anymore? No one reads it. Especially not you. Oh well, here goes...

My Dog sends signs from Heaven. On an unrelated note...this year's flu season may be the second longest one on record. Also ranks somewhere in the top 5 of deadliest. Not deadlier than last seasons which killed 80,000 Americans and was the second deadliest behind the 1917-1919 pandemic. In North Carolina, flu deaths are at 192, though the number is likely higher since some cases go diagnosed, sometimes unnoticed or misdiagnosed. Current season has as many as 57,000 deaths.

Some Positive Verbage About America and Americans

One of the biggest problems in Oklahoma is our education system. It is an embarrassment. We probably have more people in state prisons than our whole education system. I know of know environmental issues in Oklahoma, though it is worth mentioning the water supply in Norman is contaminated with high levels of chromium-8. But, that's nothing new. Ours are ranked as some of the highest in the country. Some would say you can taste the cancer in the water. I drink it anyway, because I don't give a shat about that kind of thing. It makes me stronger! I smoke cigarettes too and drink alcohol and probably go a little heavy on the cold and flu medication sometimes. Speaking of which, I need to go and get some more. My point is that I am too tough to care about such things. And I am sure I will carry those words to my grave. The weather lately has had me congested. On that tune, I will bring up our flu epidemic which is peeking for the second time this season. H1N1 has been the dominant but is now possibly past its peak but the H3N2 strain is just starting to show its rise. It has been a deadly flue season but not as bad as last years, but I think it will go down in the books as one of the most lethal flu epidemics in U.S. History. Oklahoma reports 56 deaths this season. The number one being the H1N1 "Spanish Flu" pandemic that burned in three waves from 1917-1919 and killed 150 million people world wide. Times of tragedy in this country seem to help strengthen the bond Americans have. We let that bond go loose all to often, but as much as I have criticized our nation lately, I must say we work wonderful as a team, which is why I am pushing so hard for us all in this country to rise up and help each other to fix the holes in our system and truly make this country great again.

I am trying to steer this blog away from the previous apocalyptic style I was using and focus more on other things of interest to me. Although I have noticed that upon pulling away from the Apocalypse/Armageddon genre, viewers of this blog have gone way down. If you are reading this please send a link to any interested friends you have or post it to Facebook. Help me advertise =)
Tell me what kind of things you would be interested in reading here. It is not all about me. Doesn't need to be, but I use me as a starting point. I wish to entertain and inform you, if you will leave me comments below.

The Goddess has blessed me with positive inner changes and a new way to focus my attention on things that make me happy. I am evolving spiritually and focusing on my pursuit of happiness as well as bettering the world and creating worlds with my imagination. Reading is my big love. I loved getting detention in High School. I only had it like twice though. I really enjoyed the quiet space to focus on my reading and get my hone work done so it wouldn't have to come with me home. I still don't understand how its even a punishment. Last year I was unlawfully arrested for trespassing (I was on a public side walk walking through the University-the false charges were dropped and I chose not to make a stink of it considering the hard work our Police do, it was an honest screw up and I don't wish to make their lives harder through formal complaint. I make mistakes too). I was in jail for only a few hours, but I did enjoy the time I got to sit in solitude and focus on reading Ayn Rand until they released me. LOL. I  consider my latest accomplishments to be a victory.

I have no ill will towards the Police. Most of them are good people. Regular folks and hard working. Our everyday heroes-many are Moms and Dads.
