A Brief Local Oklahoma News

      Today we had two unrelated earthquakes in Oklahoma. Neither one was close enough for me to feel in the metro. The first one was a 3.2M at 4:44 a.m. this morning south east of Union City west/north west of Norman. The second one happened at 11:51 a.m. and was a 3.6 and occured west/south west of Horntown which is east of Norman. A male giraffe at the Oklahoma City Zoo has fathered two babies from two baby mamas. Both babies remain unnamed at this time. Starting Thursday Oklahoma will be opening up COVID vaccinations to nonresidents. I will soon be getting mine. Kingfisher Public Schools is reversing their mask mandate early next week as will Guthrie Public Schools.

Post-Easter (Pagan and Christian Friendly article)

     I'm not a big fan of Easter. Whether its the Christian interpretation or Pagan tradition, they both seem irrelevant to me. Even as a kid, it was hard for me to get too excited about Easter. In fact, I almost dreaded it. Nothing personal about it. I just don't have much to jump around about when it comes to Easter. Terrorism on the other hand celebrated the holiday with suicide blasts at Sri Lankan churches and hotels. And it may not even be over. There may be more ISIS-wannabe-bastards running around thinking up new plots against innocent people. May God Forbid it! And today in France a church was attacked and the priest had his throat slit before the coward terrorists screamed the stereotypical "Allahu Akbar" (God is Great) as if these things had anything to do with God. What's wrong with people?! All over the world people do such awful things.

     The western world is by no means innocent either however. Israel "Defense" Forces regularly kill Palestinian Woman and children with U.S. backed bombs and fighter jets. All the fancy new toys going to commit murder on a scale that WOULD LEAD VLAD DRACULA THE IMPALER impressed! Hell on earth yet? When hasn't it been? I am an optimist though. I know the good in people will prevail. Evil may win many battles, but Good WILL win the war. I can promise you that. The earthquakes in Oklahoma have stopped and I don't expect them to be returning. A big quake has hit the Philippines. Prayer Warriors please pray for loved ones and friends there and everywhere else on earth where love and good need be. Storm season is begging for Oklahoma. We have had a few rainy days that have been over exaggerated by our bored meteorologists. I am done with storm seasons. I will "make the most" of them however. I have grown partial to the white winter and cold. Humidity is a beast in this state. Last years flu epidemic killed a record breaking 80,000 people (which is 20,000 higher than my prediction). That's a BIG deal. This season has killed 57,000 approximately. While the worst is probably behind us, I think next year may not be a good flu season either. These will go down in the record books. America, a Plague came upon you and you barely noticed. Just like the earthquakes. All this weird shit gets forgotten with by a majority of Okies (and Americans in general).

     I am much more optimistic than I sound though. Let me assure you that while I expect more violence in our society, more freak diseases and strange natural anomalies, etc. but I do believe our species is SLOWLY, but surely edging towards a utopia. I genuinely believe this. I believe it will take Divine Guidance to do so, but it WILL happen. And possibly in our very own life times. North Korea has seemed to have backed away from nuclear tests and while they recently tested a "tactical guided weapon" (what the fuck does that even mean?), Kimmy Poo is being nice by listening to Daddy Trump. Praise God for him and may God Guide him. Back to the flu. I haven't had my flu shot and don't intend on getting it. What about you? Wake and Shake, it's an Okie Quake!

     Yesterday we had the third largest quake in Oklahoma's history. 5.1 Magnitude. I felt it, but yesterday was a horribly bad bad day for me. I'm not going to spill my current crisis here, because i am trying to not have to revisit it unecessarily. I had a very horrible day, but let's focus on the quake. Staring at the ceiling reviewing the misery I was being dragged through, I noticed the light fixture above me shaking. When I  am feeling a temblor, I use the experience to study 'in lab' (during the shaking I make mental notes what is happening so i can analyze the quake later). I placed a hand on a dresser top and my other hand on the floor to measure the "vibrational frequency" of the seismic energy. For a moment I thought the shaking was psychosomatic-that perhaps the adrenaline from everything that day was giving me misperceptions. I confirmed the quake was seismic by noting the time and comparing notes with what the OGS and USGS have published. Something about the experience of nature's power gives me a rush. Feeling the 'moment magnitude' during the quake leaves me in a feeling of awe towards the forces that control our planet. The 'ground motion' making motion sick with vertigo from feeling the ground under me roll like a ship while simultaneously tossed around by the concussion of energy from the unimaginable power being expressed from some distant fault.

     The news reported that an amphibious assault warship (a boat load of Marines) has left to begin its voyage. Why is that significant? Because that means those Marines have a destination in mind. That means somewhere, someone is about to be invaded by us. The reason you send out an amphibious expeditionary assault corps, is to create a "beach head". That means taking a large contingency of Marines and with lightning quick speed having them occupy a coastal territory. If you have any plans on visiting the beach of a nation we currently have a beef with, it might be better to choose a different location. Places I would not suggest having a beach blanket party just yet:

*Russia
*China (but probably not) 

Food Poisoning and Captain Trips

     I am slowly getting over food poisoning (E. Coli is the culprit I think), and I may have passed a kidney stone. I have been spending a lot of time with friends as I continue to enlarge my social circle. Continuing to drop off job applications. I haven't applied at any medical clinics in awhile. I have applied for several positions at Norman Regional Hospital and will be canvasing some nursing homes on Monday. Typically CNA/MAT jobs are a dime a dozen and a guaranteed position. Let's see if my luck changes with that. Flu season has started and its hitting hard in Oklahoma and Texas. A couple of states have had outbreaks of H1N1, with 80% of flu cases in Texas being the deadly H1N1 strain. And guess what? I didn't sign up for Obamacare. I guess I am screwed? Maybe...

Comet ISON:

Comet ISON was expected to be the "comet of the century". Maybe "comet of the year" at best. It's cameo to our solar system ended on Thanksgiving day when it grazed the sun. Burning up and exploding it disintegrated leaving behind a cloud of vapor and meteors at best. 2013 was a very interesting year for space debris.

Another earthquake!

 As I type this we just had another earthquake! I was sitting here at the computer an noticed a sudden, but quick jarring motion (north to south?) and noticed the computer monitor shaking. I turned around and noticed that the Computer Tech here at the library also had noticed it. He thought it was the wind, but my Mom also felt it in OKC. Jed Castles (local newsman) reported by Facebook that we had a quake. It seems to have been felt throughout the metro area. If you felt it, share your experience in the comments section! Just when I was worried about writers block! Jed Castles reports via facebook that the shake was 4.7 NE of Edmond. I thought it was about 4.1M. I bet we get a big one within the next month. As I have previously mentioned, out quakes from this swarm, keep getting bigger. I am expecting aftershocks. Did you feel the quake? Report it here.

     Today is Pearl Harbor Remembrance day. My thoughts go out to all of our service members in the past, present and future! Nelson Mandela has also recently died. I predicted he would die this year. Sad to see another great person go on to the Abah Kingdom. We have received some snow and cold weather here in Oklahoma. Snow wasn't as bad as it was predicted to be. There were three rounds to the storm, but I slept through a great deal of it. Needed to hibernate I guess.
